| Upholstery | Chenille, Polyester Similar to velvet, chenille fabric is beautiful and soft, adding a rich look to your decor. The colour of chenille will change from one angle to another as the woven fibres catch light differently. Chenille fabric is durable and easy to maintain. Polyester fabrics are extremely strong, durable and easy to maintain. Resistant to stretching and shrinking, this fabric will retain its shape and colour after cleaning. |
| Padding | Dacron® Fibre, Dacron® Wrap, High-Density Foam Developed using the latest in fabric technology, Dacron fibre-fill gives this piece a plush and cozy feel. Dacron fibre is wrapped around the padding to help keep the seating foam in place. High-density foam in the cushions provides you with comfortable seating. This firmly packed foam will conform slightly to the body over time, so your seat remains soft and supportive. |
| Cushion Support | Sinuous Springs Metal sinuous springs provide a solid foundation for your furniture. These sturdy supports increase the longevity and comfort of your cushions. |
| Primary Construction & Frame Material | Asian Hardwood, Plywood Asian hardwood, also known as parawood or rubberwood, is one of the most durable and eco-friendly woods in the furniture market today. Once the tree's latex sap is collected for other industries, Asian hardwood is recycled into home furnishings. The dense grain makes it stable and strong, and the naturally light undertone accurately holds the intended stain colour. Plywood provides extra strength to furniture structures, and is used in everything from musical instruments to home construction. By layering each piece to cross the grain of the previous one, plywood is resistant to cracking, shrinking and warping. |
| Construction Method | Mortise and Tenon, Corner-Blocking, Kiln-Drying Used in woodworking for centuries, a mortise and tenon joint is a secure method to hold a furniture frame together. These joints are resistant to warping thanks to their simple peg-in-hole construction. An extra block of wood is added to each corner of the furniture’s frame for additional support. Known as corner-blocking, this technique helps to brace your furniture for enduring stability. Kiln-drying removes most of the moisture from wood before furniture construction, preventing warping and splitting regardless of humidity changes. |
