THE BRICK’S BRICKLEY BEACH TOWEL CONTEST

OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES (the “Rules”)
1. GENERAL
This Contest shall be conducted by The Brick Warehouse LP (“The Brick”), for customers to enter at all Brick stores across Canada. An entrant shall be referred to as “You” or “Your”.
Ways to Enter:
When You purchase and keep a sale of a Limited-Edition Brickley or Brick-Lea Beach Towel (“Beach Towel”) (only 8,064 Beach Towels available for purchase), using any payment method, You will be automatically entered to win the Prize (a purchase of the Beach Towel will constitute an “Entry”). Limit of five (5) Beach Towel purchases per household. $10.00 from every Beach Towel purchase will be donated to Children’s Miracle Network.
No Purchase Necessary Method of Entry:
To enter without purchase, You must send an email to contests@thebrick.com with a minimum 500-word essay on why You think it is important for companies to support charities in Your community. In Your email, you must include Your first and last name, and phone number.
Limit of one (1) essay per family.
For this purpose, “family” means all persons, whether related or not, living in the same household who are over the age of majority in the province in which they reside. The use of any device to automate the entry process is prohibited. Any attempt to manipulate the Contest will result in You being disqualified.
Contest Period:
Commencing Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, September 16, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. in the time zone in which You reside. (“Contest Period”)
“Draw Date” – September 18, 2024 at 11 a.m. MT
Odds of winning decrease as the number of Beach Towel purchases made or submitted essays received increase during the Contest Period.
2. PRIZES
There are a total of THREE (3) prizes to be won:
Each Winner will receive a $10,000 Travel Voucher in the form of a cheque.
Prize is non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and non-refundable.
3. ELIGIBILITY
The contest is open to all Canadian residents who have reached the age of majority on or before the commencement of the Contest Period, except employees, representatives, agents, and affiliates of The Brick and Leon's Furniture Ltd. and their immediate family members living in the same household.
To be eligible to win the prize, You must: a) be a Canadian resident; b) have made a purchase of a Beach Towel at The Brick during the Contest Period OR have completed and submitted an essay that meets the criteria identified above; c) have kept Your Beach Towel purchase at the time of the Draw Date; d) have reached the age of majority in the province or territory in which You reside on or before the date of Your Beach Towel purchase and/or submitted essay and; e) not be an employee of, or living with an employee of The Brick Warehouse LP or Leon’s Furniture Ltd.. You agree to abide by all federal, provincial and municipal laws and the Contest Rules as set out herein. Contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and local laws and regulations.
It is a condition of eligibility that the Winner authorizes The Brick to announce and publish his/her name, address and photograph, without remuneration or consideration, in any forthcoming publicity.
4. DRAW PROCEDURE
On the Draw Date, a representative from The Brick’s Corporate Office in Edmonton, Alberta will combine the eligible automatic Beach Towel purchase Entries and essay Entries and initiate a random, computer-generated draw to obtain six (6) Entries. The first three Entries (3) will be declared the prize winners (“Eligible Winners”). The remaining three (3) Entries will be used as back-up Entries in the event that an initial Eligible Winner is non-responsive after contact, fails to comply with the Contest Rules, or is unable to complete the skill-testing question (“Alternative Winner”)
The Brick representative will use all reasonable efforts to contact the Eligible Winner, provided that Eligible Winner has complied with all Rules. If the Eligible Winner cannot be reached by telephone or email, or has not contacted The Brick within three (3) days of The Brick leaving messages to do so (“Contact Date”), then that person will be disqualified, and The Brick shall proceed to contact the Alternate Winner.
5. DECLARING THE WINNER
An Eligible Winner whose name has been selected on the Draw Date must:
Within three (3) business days following the Contact Date, correctly answer a time-limited, arithmetical skill-testing question without the assistance of any person or mechanical/recording device(s). The skill-testing process shall be administered at a pre-arranged time and place;
Execute a declaration and release form confirming compliance with the Official Contest Rules and acceptance of the Prize; and
Should the Eligible Winner fail to answer the skill-testing question correctly or is unable to attend at the time and place designated by The Brick for the administration of same, that Eligible Winner shall be disqualified, and the skill-testing question shall be administered to an Alternate Winner.
6. PRIVACY POLICY
The Brick will use the contact information provided in contest entries for administration of this Contest and/or to ascertain Your needs and market to You. We may communicate with You for any of these purposes by telephone, fax, text messaging, or other electronic means, and automatic dialing-announcing device, at the numbers You have provided us, or by internet, mail, email and other methods. By entering this Contest, You acknowledge and agree to give permission to The Brick to collect, use and disclose Your personal information in accordance with The Brick’s privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”). The Brick is committed to protecting the privacy of the personal information You have provided herein. 7. OTHER
By participating, You agree that: a) these Official Contest Rules and The Brick’s records of the draw or any other aspect of this contest shall be final and conclusive in all respects; and b) release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless The Brick and its trustees, directors, officers, and employees from any liability, claims, damages, demands, actions, or causes of action whatsoever which they, their heirs, successors, assigns, executors, or administrators may now or hereafter have directly or indirectly against them or any of them in respect of or relating to the Contest and/or the acceptance or use, misuse, or possession of any prize.
The Brick shall not be responsible for print or typographical errors in any Contest-related materials; for transactions that are posted late or incorrectly or are lost due to computer or electronic malfunction. The Brick reserves the right to amend or vary the Official Contest Rules, including the imposition or addition of new Rules which are deemed by The Brick in its sole discretion necessary for business efficacy.
To obtain the name of the Prize Winner, provided such a demand is made within three (3) months following the last Draw Date, please email the request to: contests@thebrick.com and identify the appropriate contest “Brickley Beach Towel Contest – 2024”.
The Brick’s records of the draw or any other aspect of this Contest shall be final and conclusive for all purposes relating to this Contest.
